Overview
ESA’s programme for future space transportation, FLPP, has launched a new FIRST!#8 Avionics and GNC for Space Transportation Call for Ideas.
This campaign will identify, select and mature disruptive technologies with high commercial interest to benefit European space transportation, accelerating their de-risking through rapid prototyping and testing.
Technology areas
Proposals should fall within one of the following technical domains:
- Demonstrators for Autonomous Flight Termination Systems
- Space-based telemetry
- Proximity communication
- Innovative navigation sensors and algorithms for rendezvous operations
- Innovative GNC algorithms and sensors for landing and recovery
- Hybrid navigation techniques to improve orbit injection accuracy
- Resilient GNSS-based navigation
- Sensors for propellant handling and transfer
- Sensors for monitoring of events during re-entry and landing
- On-board data handling using modern architectures
- Electronics reliability prognosis technologies
- Next generation of power sources
